Abstract

The objective of the research was to present the perception of 6 female adolescents with High Abilities/Giftedness (AH/SD), aged 14 and 16, who were identified and who still resisted recognizing themselves as people with AH/SD. It is considered that by exploring some elements of their self-perception, we can understand some of the reasons why women with AH/SD are identified in fewer numbers, do not recognize or hide the indicators of AH/SD, and have difficulty constructing this specific identity. AH/SD. This is a qualitative research, of the case study type, between the years 2018 and 2020. The instruments used were the Questionnaires for the Identification of AH/SD Indicators for adolescents, teachers and families, applied individually in 2018 and semi-structured interviews. to adolescents in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Little or no acceptance of their AH/SD indicators was found in the participants of this research during the formal identification process.
